5 Steps to Change Your Life Quickly And Create Your Desired Future

4 Silouettes jumping with joy

I was inspired to write this post after watching the video, 5 Steps To Change Your Life by Dr. Joe Dispenza. It’s a short video that summarizes decades of his research about how to create effective and lasting positive changes in people’s lives.

I believe he has been responsible for upgrading tens of thousands of people’s lives over the last few decades. Dr. Joe is sometimes challenging to listen to, but this short video is concise and at the same time provides the latest known proven methods that teach people how to create lives where they are able to achieve their goals and dreams.

Dr. Joe is a genesis. His years of scientific research have allowed him, through trial and error, to come to understand how our bodies and minds work and to understand how we can easily upgrade the quality of our lives.

So, read on to learn about the 5 Steps To Change Your Life as taught by Dr. Joe Dispenza.

5 Steps To Change Your Life

Predominantly, we are creatures of habit. Each day, 90% of our thoughts are the same thoughts we had yesterday and the day before. Our thoughts determine our feelings and our actions and reactions, therefore they are in effect creating the circumstances of our lives. If we are thinking, feeling, and doing the same things as we did yesterday, last week, and last year, it doesn’t allow much scope for our lives to change. Therefore, we must find a way to change our thought processes so that they will align with the new improved reality we wish to be living.

1: Take some time out of your busy lives to disconnect from your world

Being alive and dealing with stuff all day every day is stressful. Everything we do involves some thoughts and emotions, and if these are in any way negative, they are detrimental to the overall quality of our life experience.

We need to make sure the kids are fed, we get to work on time, answer our phones when they ring, and make sure we are presentable when meeting with friends. All these things, and so much more every day, require our attention to be placed in our ‘outer world,’ the world of sensation and experience outside of our bodies, minds, and emotions.

And while our attention is in this outer world, we are not in control of our ‘experience.’ We are, instead, being controlled by events, circumstances, and people outside of us.

Step one to change our lives requires that we stop giving attention to external stuff, and bring our attention back to the only place that we can effectively change our lives… and that is our internal worlds of thoughts and feelings.

So, turn off your phone, the TV, and your computer, send the kids out for a while, and take some time out just for yourself, without distractions. Sit or lie down, close your eyes and relax.

2: Become Aware Of Your Breath

Rewrite History-delete-limiting-beliefs-giftNotice how it is gently flowing in and out through your nose, and become aware of how, with each breath, you become more and more relaxed.

Bring your attention to the present moment. Center yourself where you are sitting and just notice, without judgment how you are feeling. Don’t ‘TRY’ to do anything, or feel anything, instead, just notice how you are in this moment. When you are centered, you naturally have more available energy to ‘create’ with because your energies are not being fragmented all over your outer world stuff.

When your mind wanders, which it will, to the future or the familiar past, just notice it without judgment and bring your attention back to the present moment. It is in THIS GENEROUS PRESENT MOMENT that we have energy available to create new thoughts which will lead to new feelings, which is the precursor of all change.

3: Ask yourself “Am I happy to be defined by memories of my past, or do I want to create a new vision for my future?”

To answer this, you will need to know “What do I want in my life?”

Take time to contemplate these questions, and be genuine with your answers. Imagine that all things are possible and choose the best version of life that you want to be living. After all, why would you want to settle for second best (even if it’s only in your mind!)

By VISUALIZING the life you want to be living, you are changing the way your brain is firing. New sequences, new combinations, and new patterns of thoughts are being embedded into your neural pathways….. and if you repeat this process every day, with commitment and passion, these new pathways will begin gaining dominance in your thought patterns….CD picture of Zen 12 product

These new patterns will eventually become your ‘go-to’ thoughts when you are operating on auto-pilot throughout the day…. And because our thoughts are responsible for the way we are feeling, we will automatically be feeling better much more of the time. We are retraining our bodies on what our futures are going to feel like, emotionally.

It’s important that we remain sitting each session until we begin to ‘feel’ the emotions we want to be feeling in our future. For most people, this means we want to feel confident, inspired, healthy, abundant, loving, grateful, appreciated, etc.

And even if you feel many of these things before you sit down for this meditation, you can still elevate these emotions by imagining more and better things than you were feeling before you sat down.

4: Write a Better Story!

This step involves rehearsing in your mind who you’re going to be when you open your eyes. We do this because if we don’t, we will just go back and continue our lives as they were before…. In other words, nothing will have changed.

The alternative is that WE DO CHANGE! And, after all, this is what we are here to learn about, right…… changing our lives for the better?

So, mentally rehearse the things you will have to do, the choices you will have to make, and the steps you will have to take. Review them over and over again, so that they become familiar and comfortable.

5: Let Go Of The Old Thought Patterns That Are Holding You Back

You cannot move into a better future if you are holding on to the familiar past…. (the one you are wanting to change.) So you need to make some decisions with regard to what thoughts belong in your upgraded future.

It’s quite obvious that old thought patterns including I can’t, I won’t, It’s too hard, I’ll never change, What’s wrong with me, It’s their fault, etc. do not belong in a future where the best version of ourselves has created an awesome life experience.

Strong, confident, happy, healthy, and wealthy people do not use this sort of LIMITING language…. So why would you?

We also need to think about our behaviors, habits, and actions. Do you habitually blame others, complain about things, or make excuses? Do you feel like the world is against you or that life is unfair? Your successful self will of course accept responsibility for all the good things in your life… as well as the few things that may not have worked out as planned!

What emotions do you want to take into your better future? Obviously, jealousy will no longer be necessary because you will have everything that you want. Fear of failure is no longer applicable, and neither is a ‘lack’ mindset, (because I’m just assuming you are wealthy in your dream future.) But, hey, it’s your future and you are free to imagine it any way you like!

Do you want to be unhealthy? Probably not! Then you had better leave behind fear and insecurity as well.

The point of this daily exercise is to begin to condition our bodies to accept our upgraded mindset, (our desired future.) And if we do this every day, without fail (two or three times a day is better)…… OUR NEW PERSONALITIES WILL BEGIN TO CREATE OUR NEW PERSONAL REALITIES.

This 5 step process works because our personalities are made up of how we think, how we act, and how we feel. And if we change any one of these aspects of ourselves, WE ARE CHANGING OUR LIVES.

Why not try it for yourself?

I’d love to hear about your experiences with personal growth and development. Please leave a comment below so that we can all benefit from your experience.

  1. What a game changer this can be Andrew! One very seldom takes the time to give attention and to nourish yourself. You are a very good meditation master.

So true to visualise the future and not spend time on the past. I am busy with a course that teaches me never to hold onto the past as a crutch when planning for the future.

Don’t go back and find excuses for failures of today, That is water under the bridge, how are you going to change it now?

As always your posts are excellent and I feel motivated after reading them, thank you!

    1. Hi Estelle, Thanks for your kind comments. I Like to think that my posts are uplifting and informative 🙂

It’s great you are investing your time in a course that is teaching the benefits of letting go of the past. Learning this is vital if we want to move forward from our current circumstances and create better lives for ourselves. Thinking about the past, or our failures, disappointments, etc. just creates stronger energetic ties to it, and we will therefore just keep recreating more of the same for ourselves.
Forward-thinking, about the wonderful lives we wish to create, is the way to bring them into our experience.
I wish you all the best with creating a wonderful life for yourself,

      With much respect,
      Andrew

  2. I love the first step: “Take some time out of your busy lives to disconnect from your world”. I used to be glued to my phone first thing in the morning and throughout the day. Then, in the morning, I stopped looking at my phone and decided to pray and meditate. I also shut my phone off at night.

At first the quiet was disturbing, but then I grew to love it. It calms me down. I even take time out during the day – maybe 5 minutes to go into the bathroom at work just to take time to be alone with the quietness. It de-stresses me.
    Thanks for this wonderful article.

    1. Hi Shalisha,
Thanks for taking the time to visit my site and comment on my article.

I know what you mean that silence seems unnatural when we first begin to experience it. But with time, it becomes so pleasurable to switch off from the busyness of our environment, we wonder how we ever let our lives become so busy…..
Meditation and prayer bring such relief, whereas addiction to technology just continues stress and anxiety.

I wish you well on your journey of de-stressing 🙂

  3. Hi Andrew.

I have to confess I have never read or seen anything of Joe Dispenza (yet). I put it on my to-do list. 🙂 Yet, reading the 5 steps, I obviously am inspired by others who are taught by Dispenza.

Probably reading your website is part of that. And a decade ago I attended a lot of seminars by an Israeli guru, who taught me to look at my life differently. So I recognize the steps. For instance, the excuse-making not to change my life (because I am too old, because I am female, because I can’t), which didn’t get me any further.

It will be good to be reminded of those days, so I am going to look at the video you have posted here. And to realize I have come a long way and am much happier nowadays. The only thing I miss at times is a community of like-minded people since I emigrated to another country. Are you surrounded by people that inspire you?

    1. Hi Hannie,

I enjoy viewing Joe Dispenza’s work very much. He is so passionate about, and so keen to share what he learns with anyone who will listen.
I believe his work, although science-based, is revealing the way the world works according to mystics and spiritual people from throughout history.
The truth is the truth, and it cannot be denied or hidden from those of us who are on this journey of personal growth and development. And that is why you will get the wisest of the wise, from all walks of life, all religions, all philosophies, and all regions speaking the same fundamental truths.
So yes, check out his video. I am sure you will gain something from it. I’m also sure that you will appreciate how far you have come since then!

I’ve never really had a group of like-minded people surrounding me. There have, at times, been a few souls who I resonated with at a very deep level, however, most of my journey has been a solo one. I know this has come down to the choices I have made, and I have no regrets about it. My life has been a great adventure (up until now,) and I anticipate looking forward that it will just keep getting better. But I do understand what you mean when you say you miss being in a community of like-minded people. I’m sure you will meet up with the right people when the time is right for all concerned 🙂

I wish you all the best,
      Andrew

  4. Taking time for ourselves is a big thing and disconnecting from the world to relax and have peace of mind is so important as it helps us to unwind if we are overwhelmed.

Life can be hard if you single parent, or if you’ve got three jobs to keep up with your rent during this crisis (pandemic).
We are glad for this article of 5 ways to make my life better and we take your advice and meditate a little at a time.
We seem to be busy busy people and need to take that quiet time.

    Cheers.

    1. Hi Guys,

Yes, many of us have challenging lives and lots to deal with on a daily basis. Our energies are constantly being pulled in many different direction as the demands of surviving, raising a family, working, and socializing, etc. all require our attention.

This fragments us and doesn’t allow us to get a clear sense of who we are and what we want from life. And the is why it is so important that we take a little time out for ourselves every day. 10 to 15 minutes a day is all that is needed to start the process of change. And this is enough, if you sit and become still regularly, to begin to relax your inner state of being and better organize your energies, mentally, emotionally, and physically….. so that you will begin to feel better. And then you will naturally want to sit for longer, and more often, each day because of the sense of peace, calm, and clarity that is achieved by doing this simple practice of taking a little time out for yourself!

Today, right now, is the best time to begin if you haven’t already. So why not go through the simple 5 steps now and begin the process of change that your future self will thank you for!

I wish you all the best,
      Andrew
