Life Is a Journey With Purpose!

Life is a journey with purpose-happy-woman-in-nature

All journeys are made up of a progression of many smaller steps. And it is all of these small steps along the way, or individual moments when added together, that tell us if we are ‘winning’ in our game of life or not. If we are happy, content, and satisfied with the many moments of our journey, then this is how we will feel when we reach the end, when we transition from this physical realm.

None of us knows for certain when we will make our transition…. It could be today, tomorrow, or fifty years, seven days, three hours, and forty-two minutes from now. However, this is not worth considering because right now is where our power lies. Right now is the only moment that we are ever able to have any influence over.

Life Is A Journey With Purpose

We cannot change the past or jump into the future, not even a second of it. Therefore, it is what we are thinking and feeling at this moment that is creating the quality of our lives! And this brings us to the purpose of our life….. To fall in love with The Process Of Living, moment by moment… simply because now is the only time we have control over the direction and the content, and therefore, the quality, of our lives.

Being Committed to the Journey is More Important Than Arriving at a Destination

The journey changes us. None of us is the same person that we were two, ten, or twenty years ago. And because of this, our goals and desires also change. And I guess this is why, for me, setting specific goal-orientated challenges to achieve within a certain time has always felt uncomfortable.

Don’t get me wrong… I believe it’s very important to have goals and dreams, but only if they are not fixed in stone! After all, there is no point in setting a goal like committing to living in another country in five years’ time, and then seeing that country descend into conflict with a neighbor…. or committing to purchase a new car based on what’s currently available and then witnessing the advent of cheap flying vehicle’s, or committing to live in a moderately priced apartment building and then suddenly doubling our income so that we can afford a serious upgrade….

Everything is constantly in a state of change as our creative energies are never still but always seeking to expand. Technology gets better, economies continue to expand, and our wants and dreams also change to keep pace with what’s new and better. And because of this, flexibility is a key to ensuring that our goals remain relevant to who we want to become.

Being flexible and adaptable requires that we are ‘in tune with’ and can focus our attention on the here and now to make the best of every moment. Because I’ll say it again…

…. this is the only moment that we can effect change and therefore influence our future…… and it is all possible because of what we are thinking and feeling NOW!

Rewrite History Reviews-childhood-quizIf you don’t already know this and apply it in your life, it would pay to spend some time contemplating the fact that: Your future life, what you will have and who you will be, your happiness, success, love, joy, etc..…. or lack of all these things, is being influenced by what you are thinking, feeling, and doing at this moment… and every other moment that you are alive!

So, based on what you have been thinking and how you have been feeling this last week, is your future self going to be happy to receive according to the energy you have been vibrating? I ask because it is your vibration that is attracting matching circumstances into your life.

…..or do you think you could benefit more by thinking differently,  by adjusting some of your thoughts to better reflect the lifestyle you want to be living in the future?

If You Don’t Make Goals, How Do You Know Which Direction To Go?

As I said earlier, I believe we may be doing ourselves a disservice by setting goals based on who we are now. This is the sure way to keep attracting (through The Law of Attraction) similar content to what we already have. Like attracts like….. so when you keep thinking and doing similar things, you are guaranteed to receive similar results!

However, if we want better or different circumstances, we have to first create it with our thoughts and feelings. And here, using our imagination is the key to manifesting better future lives for ourselves.

“Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life’s coming attractions.” Albert Einstein.

So, instead of setting goals for who we are now, the way to progress, change, evolve, and advance in life is to plan for bigger and better things. So, why not plan for the best, to become more than you are now, to achieve more than you can now, and to be able to effortlessly live a life that brings you happiness and joy whenever you think about living it?

For me, this is the destination….. the happiness, love, joy, accomplishment, comfort, ease, excitement, and thrills….. all of it achieved and solidified as we go through each moment of our journey by planning for fun and imagining the best possible outcomes in everything we are doing, and always smiling when thinking of the future.

Smiling???? Yes, because I know that when I am happy and content in more of the current moments, my future is being created out of all these happy moments….. so my destination will also be ‘happy!’ Because it is what we are thinking, feeling, and doing throughout the journey, every moment of the journey, that is adding up to our ‘life experience.’……. and you alone are responsible for and have control over your journey….. and, yes, you can choose to be happy now!

No one else can live your life for you. They cannot think for you, feel for you, or act for you. However……

Other People Often Want to Influence and Control Our Lives!

For many people, goals revolve around material gains and often they will try to get us to buy into their version of reality. These people include our friends, families, societies, media conditioning, religions, etc. The list of people with their own agendas is huge. They try to get us to live our lives in a way so that they will somehow feel better about their own lives.

Their reasoning is that if we do what they consider to be the ‘right’ things, they will be happy for us! So we are told that we should do many things. “Get an education, job, partner, house, have kids, mortgage, savings, retire…… and when we have done these things, we will be happy because it’s what they believe will bring happiness to our lives! However, it doesn’t work this way… because we are all unique with our own ideas about what will make us happy.

In my experience, living within the consensus reality or a ‘limited box’ of opportunities and possibilities is not very satisfying! Within this normal framework, people are taught to work hard and often even told that it is necessary to delay their happiness until they achieve this goal, and then again until they achieve the next goal and the next…. Then another goal is set and it’s head down, bums up again, and working towards another better-perceived future. What madness!!!!!

If we buy into this belief, and continually defer our happiness and joy, it just means that our end goals are distracting us from the beauty and joy that can be found in all the in-between moments.

“To finish the moment, to find the journey’s end in every step of the road, to live the greatest number of good hours, is wisdom.” Ralph Waldo Emerson

I’m not suggesting that we don’t do these things…. because, after all, that’s what life’s journey is all about…. the experiences. Having families, buying stuff, houses, an education, travel, friends, etc. it’s all great…. and I love it when I am consciously immersed in, and enjoying, all of these moments.

Live For Today With The Goal of Making Your Future Brighter!

It’s the process of living life, the journey that is the only true reward. The point of life is not about arriving, (getting the diploma, the new job, finding the right partner, buying the house, having the kids, retiring…..) The purpose of your life should be to enjoy the journey…. and the journey is all of the steps added together that are taking you to where you want to be…..

Healthy, Wealthy, Happy, and Wise…… We know we are winning if we are feeling great throughout the whole journey! And why wouldn’t we? After all, we can never know, see, or do everything! There is always so much more to learn, so many friends we are yet to meet, so many experiences we are yet to have…… and doesn’t knowing this just make you excited to just wake up every day?

Every new day gives us many more opportunities for fun, to play, to explore, and to discover new and exciting stuff….. and it is only when we embrace life with this attitude that we are truly living and truly experiencing the journey!

So, How Do We Get There From Here?

“We would begin saying, “I’m not ever going to get it done. I’m an eternally expanding Being, and I’m doing great where I am, and I’m so eager about what’s coming.” That’s the essence of the vibration that keeps adventurous things coming, keeps you feeling always excited, stable and secure, keeps you feeling in love with life. All day, every day, count your blessings! All day, every day, make your lists of things you appreciate. And as you keep activating what is working in your life, then more pleasing things on all subjects will flow to you.”Abraham Hicks

Learn how to hear and understand the quidance from your soul and other spirit guides.Everything in our lives is here because we have attracted it to us because of our vibration, (our unique blend of energy) which is made up of the way we feel in relation to all subjects. Our feelings are a result of our thoughts, and our thoughts lead to our actions. Therefore, our thoughts are the beginning of what circumstances, conditions, and people we attract into our life.

Most people’s current reality doesn’t change much because they are repeating familiar/similar thoughts, have fixed habits, and hang out with the same people at the same places doing similar things all the time. And this is OK……………… if you want your future to be similar to your present reality……

However….. life is full of many diverse opportunities and possibilities. You can also continue to do the same stuff and choose to feel differently about it to change your journey and bring about a different life experience……..

How? Simple really… For me, it’s all about Choosing Better Feeling Thoughts as often as possible. It’s about knowing that everything is OK as it is and everything will continue to get better from this moment on if I continue to practice having more and more thoughts that make me feel better!

This causes my vibration to raise and therefore attract more good stuff into my life, and when this is practiced often enough, through The Law of Attraction, my life just continues to get better and better.

As Einstein said in the above quote, use your imagination…… Sometimes it pays to choose to ignore reality and just imagine your way into ‘feeling’ the best you can imagine, feeling better than you have ever felt before, just for the joy and pleasure of it. Every cell in your body and mind will love you for it, and if you can maintain a feeling of joy for a short time, and do it often, you will attract so much more to appreciate….. and your dreams of a wonderful journey will become your reality!

  1. Hi Andrew,

This is so very true. We are conditioned to believe that we “will be happy” once we get that diploma, the car, the house, the wife/husband, kids, and then retirement, but we have to live our lives the way we want to, not the way others stipulate for us. I like what you explained about goals and how they can change or adapt to certain events or circumstances. We need to be flexible, always. I also believe in being persistent when it comes to goals, but yes, sometimes they change a little, because of things that happen.
Imagining the future, I do that a lot, and I will add that smile to my face, although it is often there anyway, also now that I write this 🙂

    1. I think it’s always a good idea to be flexible, both in body and mind. There is always going to be stuff changing around us. This is just the nature of life, and if we are rigid or fixed in our ideas and goals, then we are the ones who will suffer because we cannot adapt. However, I’m not suggesting that we give up on our dreams and goals just because things get a little difficult, but the ability to adapt will allow us to still attain our goals (if they are still desirable) even when circumstances beyond our control change.

I like that you are smiling as you wrote your comment. I was smiling while reading it, and yes, it does feel good to have a smile on our faces 🙂
      All the best 🙂

  2. Hi Andrew,
I couldn’t agree more. One thing I have learned is that this game of life definitely has no formula or particular path to follow. Nothing lasts forever and change is the only constant factor in this life.
We can’t get everything we desire so we should live each day as we go. Happiness, success, and a whole lot more come with the state of our minds, how we see, think, feel and perceive things. Oftentimes, people around us want to influence our way of doing things. This isn’t always bad as some may be positive but it’s usually best to think about these things critically to make sure it doesn’t throw us off. All that matters is that we are happy and fulfilled with the life we are living or have lived at the end of the day.

I really hope people who read this article pick up a few things as it will allow them to appreciate life more.
    Thank you so much.

    1. Hi Femi.

You are right when you say that the journey of life has no formula…..
Maybe there is something general going on in the background that we are unable to perceive, however, it seems that no two lives are the same. We all face different challenges, have different dreams, and gather different life circumstances to us.

And this is why it’s important that we focus on our own lives and making them the best they can be. Other people’s lives are their business and are not our responsibility! However, our happiness is our responsibility and we should make the pursuit of our happiness, success, and overall wellbeing our number one priority. This will not only directly benefit us, but also affect our families, friends, and all others that we come into contact with in positive, beneficial, and uplifting ways.

I wish you all the best, my friend, and may you create a happy and fulfilling life for yourself!
      Andrew

  3. All that matters at the end of the day is that we are close to our loved ones and dream of big things while putting in the work and staying dedicated to the tasks at hand.

I believe that taking risks and enjoying every moment as much as we can is what truly makes us happy and makes us agree that life is indeed a journey with purpose.

    Such a lovely post.

    Gorjan,

    1. Hi Gorjan.

I couldn’t agree more mate. Being with those we love is such a wonderful thing, and if we can love what we are doing, life is indeed a wonderful thing.

Have a great day mate 🙂

  4. This really made my day. I did get to the end without knowing because I was reading with a smile on my face and feeling like there’s more to read. I will for sure look more into your website, as I really like it! it is all about appreciating what you have and having a positive mindset.

Do you think meditation is also good to help us move on from negative thoughts?

Btw, thank you for your great content. Keep the good work,

    Venche

    1. Hi, Venche.

Haha, it’s great to know that you were smiling all the way while reading my article….. Doesn’t time just fly by when we are enjoying what we are doing!

Meditation is a really, really, important tool for developing self-awareness. I would say that there is nothing better than being able to remain still and to quiet our minds.
Many people struggle to set up a consistent practice of meditation and give up before deriving any real benefits from the practice. However, once a consistent practice is developed, people rarely stop meditating. This is because the benefits to our bodies and minds are so great. Peace, clarity, ease, stillness, ability to focus, and a sense of expansion and connection to all life are a few of the benefits that I personally receive from meditating. And the effects not only last during the meditation but spill out into our whole lives, transforming who we are.

I would definitely recommend meditation as a way of moving on from negative thoughts, and so much more.

  5. Hi Andrew,

Inspiring article! I 100% agree with you when you say that the most important aspect is the journey and not the goals. Goals are like a vision to pull us in doing great things, but yet the real accomplishment is the journey.

I have read somewhere about the ‘bending reality’ concept.’ This is where when you set an exciting vision to drive you to strive hard in achieving your goals. However, you should not link your happiness to these goals but rather be grateful for what you have in the now. And you will find success happening to you quicker than you predict.

I like your blog a lot. It’s all about what I love! 🙂

Continue the great work to make the world better! Cheers

    1. Hi Arnaud. Thanks for the positive comments, mate.

I have to agree that gratitude is so important. Gratitude for what we have, for the people in our lives, for our health, and for our ability to adapt, to change, and to improve our lives in any way we choose. This ‘blending reality’ concept sounds interesting. I’ve not heard of it before but will check it out. Thanks!

When we remain in a state of gratitude, we draw more into our lives to be grateful for. And initially, developing a sense of gratitude doesn’t require big changes in us or our lifestyle….. it just requires that we see the world with ‘new eyes’ and a new attitude.

Unfortunately, most people are programmed to see the things that are wrong in their lives, with the people around them, and with what they have in terms of possessions (or lack of.) A new way of looking requires a change in what we are focusing on…. and this is important for our overall wellbeing and satisfaction with our lives. We need to begin to look for and acknowledge all the things that are going right in our lives, and if we can do this, we will immediately begin to feel better…. and the more we see and acknowledge all the good things, then we will attract to us more good things to be grateful for.

I wish you a happy day every day, my friend. Enjoy life!
      Andrew

  6. This article is a change of reading for me like the one I read the other day which somehow similar to yours.

It talks about our “subconscious mind”. The author said that we can instruct our subconscious mind on what to think, see, and feel. Similarly to your post, you said, “using our imagination is the key to manifesting better future lives for ourselves.” Which I think is a very important factor to live a successful and happy life.

After reading that post and yours, I’m starting to apply it to myself. And to be honest it’s quite difficult because I’m a very realistic person that looks at present things.
But, I guess for me to achieve the changes I want — I need to change the way I think.

This post is helpful, Andrew. Thanks for sharing.

    1. Hi Mina.

I think it’s good to read about different topics occasionally. It broadens our minds by introducing new ideas that we may not otherwise ever be exposed to.

You mentioned that you are a reality or ‘present’ based thinker.
Do you know that your reality is not the same as everyone else? There are many different versions of ‘reality’ out there. Some people live a poor life, others a rich life. Some a dream life, and others a life full of hardships and struggle. Some peaceful and content, and others violence and crime.

This means that reality, or the ‘present,’ is very personal and can actually be a wide array of different experiences. However, the present you have chosen is yours and yours alone and is the result of all that you have ever thought, felt, and done in the past. So if you continue to focus on your present, as it is, you will continue to receive more of the same content into your life in the future.

If you desire something different, you need to remove your attention from the present and begin to imagine the life you want to be living in the future. And in this way, your powerful subconscious mind will begin causing you to think, feel, and act in ways to bring about your desired reality.

I wish you well on your journey, Mina, and hope you are able to create the life of your dreams 🙂
      Andrew
