More Inspirational And Motivational Quotes: (Practical Advice About Reaching Your Goals In Life)

Sihlouttes of happy people jumping in the sunset

Our beliefs set the limits of what we expect from our lives. And it is the image we hold of ourselves that determines how we act in, and respond to, the world around us. Therefore, our thoughts, feelings, actions, and reactions are responsible for all the circumstances and conditions we have created and are currently living.

However, things don’t need to continue to be the way they are. We ALL have within us the power to change our current circumstances and create better lives for ourselves.

If we can change the quality of our thinking, we will be able to change the quality of our lives. We’ve all heard of people who go to ‘dark places.’ They become negative in their thinking for whatever reason, and then their lives spiral out of control to match their ‘doom and gloom’ attitude.

Fortunately, the opposite is also true. If we can change our thoughts and beliefs to consider ourselves as powerful, confident, and successful, then this is what we will become. So it is with much respect that I offer these Inspirational And Motivational Quotes in the hopes that they will encourage you to keep reaching for and achieving your goals in life.

“Dreams are the seeds of change. Nothing ever grows without a seed, and nothing ever changes without a dream.” – Debby Boone

It’s impossible to be inspired or motivated when we don’t have a distance to travel. By this I mean we need a destination/goal that is different and better from where we are currently standing.

Think about it. Would you be motivated to achieve more of the same stuff you already have? No, because you already have it or know how to achieve it. What you have, and can do, is already ‘old news.’ It is a result of the thoughts and actions you have taken before NOW.

Dreams of something more and something better than our present reality require some effort on our part. And before physical effort and manifestations can take place, we must dream about, imagine, and plan what it is we want to achieve.

We may desire to lose weight or to buy a new car. It doesn’t matter what our goals are. However, we must first imagine them in our minds and then set about planting the appropriate seeds for them to mature and become part of our future reality.

“You don’t need to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.” – Martin Luther King Jr

NLP Hero audio track for total confidenceNot all goals are clear, quick, or easy. But that should never stop us from pursuing the things we want that will make our lives better. We can be thirty years old, lacking formal education, but have a goal to get a master’s degree. Great! Let’s do it.

So what if we have to work for several years or the rest of our lives at it? This is our life and if we weren’t chasing our dreams, what would we be spending our time doing? Something equally important and rewarding? (probably not.)

If there are many steps along the path to achieving, it’s important that we learn to enjoy the journey. If we get hung up on ‘not yet having arrived at our destination’ we are missing the point of life……

Life is a progression, a continual journey of growth, understanding, and achieving, and then repeat.

If we have a goal that we don’t think we can achieve, the best thing we can do is just take the first step. And then the next. And as we progress, we will gain more confidence and a clearer path will begin to open up before us. We should let inspiration and our enthusiasm guide us.

“Don’t judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds that you plant.”
– Robert Louis Stevenson

If we keep score about how far we are away from achieving our goal, we may lose interest and prematurely give up. Whereas, if we are continually progressing, even a little every day, we can take satisfaction and comfort in knowing that we are closer today to achieving than we have ever been before.

We didn’t learn to walk or to talk in a day. In fact, most of what has become habitual and easy for us was initially challenging. So with this in mind, we should respect our journey, particularly any time we are learning something new…… and we will learn many things on the road to achieving our goals.

Because the thing to remember is IF WE KNEW EXACTLY HOW TO GET THE THINGS WE WANTED, WE WOULD ALREADY HAVE THEM. But we don’t have them yet, so we have some learning to do.

“Twenty years from now you’ll be more disappointed by the things you did not do than the ones you did.” – Mark Twain

Dream and inspire written on stonesWhat would you tell your future self if they were here, now, and they asked you “why did you give up on your dreams?” This is you in the future, coming back, full of regrets because your present-self gave up to early and didn’t achieve the things you currently think are important.

How can you answer that????

Ummm, I’m sorry about that, but I had ‘better things to do’ than to peruse my dreams!

What can possibly be better than achieving all of the goals and dreams that you have?

I’m asking this as a serious question. “What can possibly be better than achieving all of the goals and dreams that you have? What is it that you are currently doing with your time that is so important that you don’t have the time and energy to peruse your goals and dreams?

It might benefit you to think about this for a few minutes……..

“Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do.”Marianne Williamson

Why are we not achieving the things we say we want that will make our lives better?

Are we lacking confidence in our own abilities? Or are we afraid of what other people will think and say about us?

a) If we are lacking confidence in our ability to achieve what we want, we need to realize that IT IS ONLY OUR SELF-DEFEATING THOUGHTS THAT ARE HOLDING US BACK. The remedy to this is to educate your mind to think in ways that support your ideal version of the future.

Man standing on top of mountain banner for Midas ManifestationWe can’t change the past of the present, but we do have the ability to create our future the way we want it to be. And it begins right now with every thought that we think! Learning to focus our minds is the greatest superpower we can ever have!

b) If we are shrinking away so as not to upset other people, WE NEED TO REALIZE THAT WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR THOUGHTS, THEIR FEELINGS, OR THEIR ACTIONS.

Nobody is ‘saved,’ and nobody ‘wins’ when we limit ourselves. All we are doing is depriving ourselves of the opportunity to create a wonderful, satisfying, and fulfilling life for ourselves. AND WHY WOULD ANY SANE PERSON CONSIDER THAT THIS IS A GOOD IDEA?

The point I want to make here is in this next quote:

“If you really want to do something you’ll find a way, if you don’t you’ll find an excuse.” – Jim Rohn

So, what’s your excuse?

I’m hoping by now, that you are beginning to realize, or mature enough to understand, that THERE ARE NO VALID REASONS/EXCUSES FOR YOU TO NOT BE ACHIEVING YOUR GOALS.

Sure, life’s a journey, and sure it may take time, and sure you may have setbacks, and sure other stuff gets in the way. But if you really have your heart and mind focused on achieving something, YOU WILL FIND A WAY! And the more you remain focused on your goals, the more the unlimited creative power of the Universal Mind will conspire to make your dream come true.

And then, each successive goal becomes easier and easier. Because we will have already laid the important groundwork…. That is we will have already changed ourselves to become someone who is inspired, motivated, and capable of achieving our goals. And that is what the journey of life is all about!

“It is your repeated imaginations that bring new realities into existence. So start using your focused thoughts to manifest the reality you desire instead of the things and circumstances you don’t want.” – Andrew Paterson

  1. This is exactly what I had to see today.

I’ve had a difficult week due to a harsh event that brought my spirits down. So, seeing this post filled me with hope again and a new determination to reach my goals. I also watched the video and it’s so true, when we leave the physical world, none of our possessions will matter. All that matters is what we left behind in the hearts of others, the seeds we planted, and the lives we have affected.

It made me realize that I have impacted other lives. I have rescued hundreds of animals from near death and I have helped people as well over many years. As I watched the video I even remembered some of their faces, and it was a memory I needed to see today.

Thanks for sharing this! It came at the right time.

    1. Hi Christine.

Thank you for sharing your story with us.
I’m really happy that you took the time to read my post and that you were able to be positively recharged by it.

The fact that you give so much to make the lives of others better shows what is truly in your heart. You are an awesome amazing person and you need to acknowledge this fact and treat yourself as the most important person in your life. If you do, then your life circumstances will positively reflect this more and more.

And once you start receiving this positive feedback in your life, you will realize that you are the powerful creator of your own circumstances. And then you will set about to only create positive results for your life. So your life will become better and better, and as a bonus, you will also be able to positively impact the lives of others to a greater extent.

I wish you well on your journey and hope all of your dreams come true.
      With much respect,
      Andrew

  2. Hi Andrew,

I enjoy reading your posts which help me a lot to motivate myself.
One statement I like – “If we can change the quality of our thinking, we will be able to change the quality of our lives” is a key.

Our thoughts determine our lives and I have been convinced of this countless times. Successful people are the only ones who have a clear goal in mind and have not given it up.

Another statement of yours that I really like is that life is a journey. Thank you for helping us learn to enjoy that journey. Just keep going.

    All the best,
    Danijela

    1. Hi Danijela,

I’m happy to help provide inspiration and motivation for people to create better lives for themselves.

Yes, life is a journey. And when we view it as a progression of learning and events, we will stop being hard on ourselves for the things we haven’t yet accomplished. because we will understand that to achieve goals, we need to bring our energy into alignment with the new goals we have….. and this always means that we have to become something different from who we currently are.

I think journeys are fun, don’t you?
And if we embrace the journey of life, every day, with an attitude of joyful expectation for what is to come next, we will live wonderful and satisfying lives!

I wish you lots of fun and love on your journey,
      Andrew
