What is evolving and why is evolving ourselves important?

Things get better when we evolve ourselves

In my post ‘What does to evolve mean?’ I defined evolving as ‘to come forth, gradually, into being more of your potential.’ So, evolving means growing, changing, developing into something more than we currently are. But, what does this actually mean in terms of how evolving changes us as individuals?

Our lives and how we see and interact with the world change as we evolve because it is impossible to change and still remain the same. Our personalities, our expectations, our beliefs, and our desires, become upgraded and will reflect the new potentials that we realize are available to us.

The idea of dramatically changing who we are freak’s a lot of people out. They prefer the stability and security of knowing who they are and how they fit into the world around them. They know who they can count on, what they are capable of doing, how much they earn, what they will have for lunch tomorrow, and where they will go on holiday at the end of the year. The sacred sound healing system for abundance

However, over time everything changes, and there is nothing we can do to prevent this fact of life. So, we either embrace change with an open heart and mind or do as some people do and fight against it until our last dying breath. I seriously don’t recommend this option as it just causes mental and physical pain, disease, and basically a crappy daily life experience for us.

Evolution is a process that gifts us beneficial results!

The only lasting resolution to our pain and suffering is to be found in a quest to realize the truth of our divinity. WE MUST EVOLVE TO END OUR SUFFERING AND TO BECOME FREE!

A word of warning…. Be aware that after embarking on a journey of Personal Growth and Development towards Enlightenment, there is no going back. You can never again switch off the light to that which has been illuminated.

We are spiritual beings having a human experienceIf you chose to change, then change is what you get, and some of it is painful. The pain is because we realize that our current ego-identity is built on a foundation of lies. We will be taken on a journey away from our familiar ego-based life into unknown zones of ultimate truth….. AND IT’S ALL GOOD!

Currently, so many people seem to be devoid of purpose and this leaves us feeling disconnected, unsure of ourselves, and not knowing how ‘we fit in’ in the great scheme of things. A quest for self-help and self-improvement will lead to the answers to these, and all other questions.

Individual’s and humanity’s evolution can be likened to ‘waking up.’ It’s a call for us to re-familiarize ourselves with our essential spiritual essence, to the source of all life.

Evolving is becoming aware of a ‘much larger game’ than the life we have currently accepted as ‘ours.’

We have been conditioned, and trained, by our modern education systems to focus almost entirely from the left (analytical, language) side of our brains. Because of this, our understanding of reality has become very dependent on the language we use and the analytical processes we use to decode our environment. Many people have the opinion that ‘if science can’t prove it, then it’s not true, or doesn’t exist!’ This excludes so many, as yet, unproven realities and severely constricts our understanding of life.

When we (and science) are operating from the left side of our brains, we are very ego-centered and consider ourselves as individuals who are in competition with other individuals for resources, love, jobs, etc. and also in competition with nature, the very source of our lives. This is basically madness!

The left side is only fifty percent of our brains, and when we view life and ourselves from this limited perspective, we only get some of the picture, we get things wrong, and we miss vital connections that would allow us to fully comprehend life and our relationship to it.

Become a magnet for wealth by upgrading your vibrationThe right side of our brains is the creative side, and this side decodes life energetically. This is of vital importance because, at its essence, EVERYTHING IS ENERGY! All matter when broken down to its simplest form is energy, every rock, every tree, in fact, everything dead and alive, is energy.

Our thoughts, feelings, and emotions, are also energy and they affect our environment. Evolved people understand this, and this is why they act with more purpose and intent than people with less self-awareness.

So, instead of living life in a ‘reactionary mode,’ EVOLVED PEOPLE WEIGH THE CONSEQUENCES OF ALL THEIR THOUGHTS AND ACTIONS because they know the truth that ALL ENERGY COMES FROM THE ONE SOURCE. We are ALL multi-dimensional spiritual beings that are connected by THE ONE SOURCE ENERGY. So whatever we do has an effect on us (Law of Attraction/Karma) and all other life.

Evolved beings know instinctively that whatever we set in motion will be returned to us, that every effect (consequence/condition in our life) is a result of a cause (our thoughts, words, actions, and reactions.) Universal laws dictate that it cannot be any other way!

How do we know if we are evolving?

Unlike external changes in our lives, internal changes to our psyche are not as easy to recognize.

It’s easy to understand that yes, we brought a new car, renovated the kitchen, are wearing a new dress, are healthier due to the exercise we are doing, or that we have more money in the bank.

But how do we know if we are evolving?

It’s not so easy to measure ‘inner’ changes as they are taking place on a subconscious, conscious, emotional, or spiritual level. But, the changes accumulate, are profound, lasting, and become noticeable to ourselves and others as time goes by.

Fifteen sure signs that you are evolving into an expanded version of yourself:Winning together is better than winning alone
  • You become more aware of your thought patterns and the effect your thoughts have on how you act and react to life’s events
  • You give up being a ‘victim’ and instead proactively seek solutions to your issues and problems
  • You stop making excuses as to why you can’t do things and instead ‘grow’ yourself to become able to do all the things you want
  • You no longer let your emotional state of being be affected by what other people may think or say about you
  • You never ‘react’ negatively for any reason and instead choose to ‘act’ in the best possible way at all times
  • You define clear goals and set out to achieve them with purpose and determination knowing that you are in control of and responsible for your life circumstances
  • You are ok when other people have points of view that differ from yours because you understand that it all adds to the diversity and ‘color’ that is life
  • You accept responsibility and apologize when you are wrong
  • You love and respect yourself even if you are ‘not yet’ perfect, because you know that life is a journey, and you are well on your way
  • You bear no ill will towards anyone for any reason.
  • You can forgive and forget because you know that your ill-feeling towards others is only hurting yourself
  • You are patient with yourself and everyone else because you know it is the journey that is important, not the destination
  • You allow people to make their own mistakes because you understand that this is how they learn and grow into better versions of themselves
  • You are excited to wake up every day knowing that ‘today is going to be a great day!’
  • You finally realize that you are good enough and have always been good enough 🙂

Evolving, by its very nature, is a selfish journey

Evolving ourselves is of vital importance so that we can create the best possible life experience for ourselves. To do this, we have to be selfish, because NO ONE ELSE CAN DO IT FOR US, JUST AS WE CANNOT DO IT FOR ANYONE ELSE.

All that exists is energy including our thoughts, feelings and bodiesHowever, we will find that if we work on our own mental, physical, and spiritual health, we will, by default, positively impact those with who we surround ourselves, our environment, and all of creation. Our raised vibration, through personal evolution, adds to the collective vibration of all that exists!

So, it almost seems that we are obligated to work on ourselves to raise our vibration?

After all, the only people who wouldn’t want to make the world a better place for them having been in it are the people with no connection to their hearts, the people who lack any form of compassion and empathy. And I know if you have read this far, then you are definitely connected to your heart energy.

So, together let’s make the world a better place just because we have been here. One by one we will overcome the darkness from within and wake up to our true nature to become filled with light or ‘enlightened.’

I really want to contribute to making the world a better place, so how do I evolve myself?

  1. Thank you so much for this incredibly insightful article, Andrew! You’ve hit the nail right on the head: self-evaluation and growth are crucial to our overall health, well-being, and success. Life is like an obstacle course-there are twists, turns, hurdles, and some unexpected bumps along the way. However, life is one big learning experience-we (hopefully) learn from our mistakes, not replicate them (the definition of insanity is constantly doing the same thing and expecting a different result), help those around us to avoid those same pitfalls, and we collectively realize our fullest potential. God placed each of us here for a very specific reason-God has a divine calling on each and every single one of our lives. Once we recognize and work in our calling, the world opens up to us-we find a level of peace, happiness, satisfaction, and success that we can’t find anywhere else. When we evolve and realize our potential, it’s a beautiful thing. Great read! God bless you!

    1. Hey. Thanks for your kind comments.

Haha, yes, life is a BIG obstacle course, and at times it can be very challenging. But, wouldn’t it become boring if every day was filled with sunshine, chocolates, and roses?
As you say, it’s the obstacles that provide us the opportunity to grow and develop ourselves beyond what we currently are. And when we can help others on their journey, it just becomes that much more interesting. Together, we can return this beautiful planet back to how it was when it was created for us, a true paradise, as heaven on earth!

I wish you all the best and know that your journey will be an exciting one 🙂

  2. Hi
I thought for a fair time after reading this. Evolving is indeed a term that we put about in many ways. I think we know intuitively what we mean by this and agreement on what we mean is easy and straightforward with like-minded people. Where we stumble is when we are confronted with others who don’t see things the way we do and in very fundamental ways that make us feel as if our values are being questioned. Still, we don’t want to follow the easy route, we don’t want to dismiss them as somehow deficient in human qualities or inferior or lacking in some other way. So we are faced with a challenge – of how to reconcile. I have seen and experienced a few times that there will always be another, usually simultaneously broader and deeper perspective that can integrate the seemingly fundamentally diametrically opposed positions. You can always undo these kinds of conundrums by thinking ahead to a time when we reunite with all our loved ones at the cosmic astral cocktail bar at the end of the universe and look back or forward on all our lifetimes and smile with tolerant humility and say to each other – Look, and there was another life when I thought it was important to . . . . (insert as appropriate).
    Best regards
    Andy

    1. Hi Andy. Thanks for reading my post and taking the time to reply.
I have to agree that ‘evolving’ has different meanings for different people. I did a search before writing this post to see what others were writing about and got to read many different perspectives. However, that doesn’t mean we need to stumble in any way, for any reason.

You ask, How do we reconcile our differences? Maybe we don’t need to?
The journey of life is one of diversity, and for me, it is the diversity that makes it interesting. I think I would die of boredom pretty quickly if we all had the same opinions and liked the same things.
It continues to amaze me, even with the simple things in life, like the recent American elections, how people can be so easily manipulated into believing that they are right and ‘the others’ are wrong, even when forming opinions based on the same information. As you say, there will always be opposing positions for everything we think, say, and do in life.

I like the idea that we will all enjoy a cocktail together and laugh about the absurd beliefs that we were so passionate about at a time when we were less evolved.

      Thanks for sharing mate.
      Have a great day,
      Andrew

  3. Evolving is indeed a selfish thing, but it’s a selfish thing that benefits ourselves and others as well. It is true that we continuously evolve throughout life. Although there are certain characteristics I had as a child that I still have now, I know that I am a different person than I was all those years ago. Life, people, experiences, and other things drive us in certain directions, and we are the ones deciding what routes we take. I am trying to work on myself, I always practice gratitude, even on days when I forget to work on myself. Gratitude is a big one for me. I also practice breathing techniques to calm myself in stressful situations.
Forgiveness is a little difficult at times, but I have forgiven people of my past for some harsh stuff, and as soon as I forgave them a heavyweight fell off my back. When someone betrays your trust, though, and you forgive, I still don’t want to be close to them anymore, because if you feel you can’t trust them anymore, they belong to the people that bring you down, don’t they? Or is it just me being too harsh on them? Trust is easily lost, but earned with difficulty, so if someone who was considered close betrays that trust, how does one handle it?

    1. Hi Christine. Welcome back.
Years ago when I first discovered that ‘the world was not as it seems,’ I was a little envious of those who could just go and work in a factory (for example) doing the same things every day and go home content with their life. It’s easy to live without expectations, without the knowledge that so much more is possible for us.

However, now when I look back, I have respect for their journey, but also know that I would not survive living in such a limited way. I can’t explain it, but the feeling I have is that something inside of me will not let me settle, and is always driving me to move forward and to experience more of the variety that life has to offer.

Regardless of what we believe (one life or many lives,) the fact that we are here, now, is significant. And if we only get one shot at life, why not go for it and experience all that we can because there is nothing to lose. If we have a succession of lives, then by nature, it will be a progression from less evolved to something better. I like the idea of ‘finding’ or becoming that potential, because, while here is great, it’s going to be sooooo much better!

Forgiveness is a tough one and a very important one!
The way I look at holding onto any negative emotions now is like the Buddha said: “Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned.”
If someone has wronged us in any way what-so-ever, we don’t forgive them because they deserve it, we forgive them because WE DESERVE TO BE RELEASED FROM THE NEGATIVE EMOTION WE ARE FEELING!
By holding onto anger, fear, hate, jealousy, etc. we are attracting back more situations to match the vibration we are emitting into the universe. Seriously, this is not good for us, and we will continue to suffer until we ‘release the need’ to be controlled by our own negative emotions.
So, forgiveness is good for us, we benefit when we forgive.
And, holding onto negative emotions is bad for us as we are only harming ourselves.

What do we do when it’s people that are close to us that have betrayed our trust? There are going to be lots of different answers to this one, and I can only talk from my limited experience. For me, the best option is always to ‘evolve’ beyond the vibration of pain.
By this I mean we stop thinking about (attracting to us) stuff that we don’t want in our lives. Instead, we focus on the best possible future that we can visualize for ourselves, (conscious creation.) If we can consistently imagine (without contradiction) that we are feeling great, healthy, happy, abundant, loving, etc. this will be our reality soon enough….. But you can’t get to ‘there’ by thinking about the same things that got you ‘here!’

You don’t need to be close to those who hurt you, none of us do. The reality is they are messed up, and it does not benefit us to be close to them in any way whatsoever. You are not being too hard on them…. They get what they deserve (as we all do). But forgiveness is still necessary for OUR wellbeing.
You don’t actually need to go to them and say I forgive you, (although sometimes this can help to release the abusers from their pain, but that is not your concern.)
Your priority is your OWN wellbeing, and for you, things get better by turning your attention to thoughts that make you feel better! It really is that easy…. We benefit by looking for the good in all situations at all times. And if we are somewhere or with someone where there is no ‘good’ to be found, we have to seriously ask ourselves why did WE choose to be here? What’s the lesson here for me? Learn it, and then get out of there as soon as possible for our own sense of wellbeing!

What’s true is that ‘we are the ones that have to change.’ We cannot change anyone else, so we all just need to decide how do we want our lives to be in the future and use the power of our magnificent minds to set about creating it!

  4. You’re absolutely right. Once you step forward toward making positive changes and personal development, you start a journey from which there’s no coming back. And why would you? To evolve yourself is one of the best things a person can do. Finding out that you’re not what others tell you, and realizing that you can do ANYTHING, is a reward worth of price.

I like how you said that if you choose to change, then change is what you get and some of it is painful. We have been conditioned by a false system and society, so when the change starts, the pain also kicks in because the subconscious is trying to hold on to a fake ego. But it’s worth it! A bit of pain for a lifetime of freedom! Thanks for sharing an awesome article and keep up the good work!

    1. Hi Ivan. You are so right, Why would anyone want to go back to living in ignorance when so much potential abounds? The rewards are so great that I wondered what the hell was I thinking before I began this journey. Life now is just so much bigger than before and is still continuing to expand all the time!
The initial pain of realizing that we were essentially prisoners of our own egos does wear off, and for me, it becomes laughable now when I think about it. All those years living out a program that I had no input in writing. But, It’s all good, all part of the journey, and it makes living with deliberate awareness that much better.
      Thanks for sharing mate.
      Have a great day
      Andrew
