The probability is that your future life will be a continuation of the life you are currently living.… unless you do something to change it!
Is this what you want for yourself, a continuation of more of the same?
Many people have the perception that anything can happen throughout their lives. They believe that destiny and fate are the driving forces behind major occurrences that befall them. If this were true, we would not have the ability to choose for ourselves, and the fact is that we can choose the make-up and content of our own lives.
So, what have you created for yourself so far, and are you happy with the way your choices are manifesting in your life?
Or…..do you imagine a life filled with more ‘enriched’ content, including improved health, extra wealth, greater happiness, and more wisdom? This is totally achievable for you, and your journey to getting more of what you want from life can begin right now. Read on to learn how!
Can I Predict My Future?
Your current life is made up of the results of all of the things you have thought, said, and done in the past. How you act and react draws circumstances to you as consequences. in effect, you are living the life you have created for yourself. Your future is going to be a continuation of more of the same UNLESS YOU CHANGE the ways in which you are thinking, feeling, and acting. If you want a better future, start thinking, feeling, and acting better to begin creating it NOW!
What determines the content of your life?
Stuff is happening to us and around us and will continue to happen all the time, and it all happens for reasons according to unbreakable universal laws. These laws, including the Law of Attraction and the Law of Attention, determine the content that we bring into our lives.
The Law of Attraction says that like energy attracts like energy. Therefore, everything in your life is the result of your energy. You have your current life and all of its circumstances because of the vibrational frequency that has been created due to the consistent thoughts you have been thinking. Unfortunately, for most people the consistent thoughts they have stem predominantly from their subconscious minds. These thoughts are repeated again and again and are based on programming they received in past lives and also in their formative years in this lifetime.
The Law of Attention says that energy flows where our attention goes. This means that whatever we focus our attention on increases in vibration, and if we focus enough clear attention on something often enough it will manifest in our lives. If the majority of our attention is optimistic then the probability is that we are now leading a happy and successful life.
The best way to see where our attention has primarily been focused is to take stock of our life as it is now! If our lives are not as we wish them to be it means that we have been giving our attention, unintentionally or intentionally, to the wrong things.
Our life is following a program that our consistent thoughts have created.
When we were young, from birth until seven years, our minds are like a sponge and absorb information from the environment in which we are immersed. After seven, we develop the ability to think critically but are still impressionable of the strong influences that surround us.
Once we are adults, our minds are ours to program with any thoughts that we choose. No one else has the power to program our minds to create anything unless we allow them to do it. However, we are still strongly influenced by the ‘programming’ that was instilled into our minds during our formative years. And it is this programming that is still creating the majority of the content of our lives, even today!
Each of us was programmed to believe certain things about money, family values, other people, religions, politics, exercise or lack of, food, and eating habits. Our programming gave us information so that we can function within society and maintain the status quo and exist within the ‘consensus reality’ framework that severely restricts our options.
It is important that we become aware of and acknowledge the current content of our lives as this will reveal our programmed beliefs to ourselves. By recognizing and accepting who we currently are, without judgment, we form a foundation from which we can move forward in any direction that we choose. Our foundation, of knowing who we are, is the stepping stone from which we can use our thoughts and actions, with attention and intention, to create the life that we desire for ourselves.
Life is filled with unlimited potential and therefore an infinite number of possibilities are available to each of us at all times!
While the potential to ‘break out’ and do some radical stuff is always available to us in each and every moment of every day of our lives, the probability is that we will continue to tread a ‘well-worn path.’ This path is known and familiar to us and is the same one, or a very similar one that we have trod repetitiously for many years, or even many lifetimes! It’s taken all of your previous lifetimes to create your current template of probabilities that define what you believe which forms the basic structure of your current life.
Now, the majority of us are living within that template and our lives have become ruled by habits that are ingrained into us due to the beliefs we hold about life. Because of this, we can get stuck in a ‘rut’ just mindlessly doing the same or very similar things each and every day, every weekend, every holiday, year in and year out.
Even if we do something ‘out of the ordinary’ we are more than likely taking our same perceptions, beliefs, and habitual thoughts along for the ride. So, while the location and people may change, we remain the same, therefore we can only expect our lives to continue along following similar patterns to our past.
The vast majority of humanity lives within this prison of limiting beliefs and limited experiences which have become their consensus reality. This conforming is, more often than not, an unconscious choice that we make by default, simply because we do not realize that we can actually choose to live a different life than the one we have currently accepted as ‘My Life!’
If there are so many possibilities for a better life available, why am I not benefiting from them?
We can offer many reasons why we continue with the same behaviors that ensure our life will remain relatively unchanged. These excuses include fear of change, family and social responsibilities, attachments to people, places, and things, etc. or simply because we never considered that we could choose a different reality for ourselves.
For the majority of us, our biggest problem is that our minds are acting on autopilot for 95% of each and every day, mindlessly repeating learned behaviors that don’t require our full attention or ‘conscious awareness.’ We can drive the car, do the dishes, exercise, socialize with friends, etc. all the while allowing our minds to wander and repeat the same habitual thoughts that are responsible for creating the content of our current lives. This just cements us deeper into our current reality, helping to ensure that our future will most likely be a continuation of our present.
Is there a secret to living a great life?
Life, to be fun and fulfilling, should be about expansion and growth. This is a process that can only occur when we have a mindset that allows us to seek out and pursue opportunities that challenge our current limits. When we are young, this seems to be our ‘default setting’ and we are inquisitive and adventurous, always seeking to expand and grow through new experiences and adventures.
For some reason, as we grow up, the majority of people become less adventurous and less inclined to experience that which they do not know and understand. With this attitude comes increasing inflexibility and rigidity of the mind and body.
However, it does not need to be this way. This is only one option and, actually, it is the worst option! Why not instead choose to remain young and nimble in body and mind? An optimistic approach to life is both productive and conducive to living a GREAT LIFE!
To express our greatest potential we need to remain flexible, open, and enthusiastic about the vast array of possibilities that life has on offer for us. If we can wake up each day with an open mind, excited by the potential to learn and grow, to experience new things, and excited to embrace change, we will remain young at heart and passionate about our lives, ensuring that we get to love more of the content of our lives.
How do I get more of what I want from life?
To break away from our current limited possible future, we have to break away from the thoughts that we have been having that has created our existing reality. This means becoming aware of and replacing any limiting thoughts with thoughts that will guide us in achieving the kind of life we wish for our future selves.
Do you really want some aspects of your life to improve? Are you willing to do what it takes?
Then you must begin by changing your current thought patterns. Thoughts are energy, and we are energetic beings, and like energy attracts like energy. And you are currently attracting stuff into your life that is compatible with the thoughts that you have been habitually having. Remember and apply the universal law of attraction and the law of attention. To change your life for the better.
We use these laws to change our programming by paying attention to our thoughts and choosing new supportive thoughts and attaching strong emotions to them. The emotional ‘feeling’ is very important, as we are feeling beings, and feelings create very strong energy which resonates within our energy field and with time will change our vibration. Our new ‘upgraded’ vibration will attract new opportunities into our lives, expanding the possibilities of life that are available to us.
This is not difficult! It is just a matter of PAYING ATTENTION to our thought patterns and changing all the limiting ones to thoughts that empower us and support us in the pursuit of our dreams.
How do I change my thought patterns when most of the time I am not consciously aware of my thoughts?
So how do we do this? We cultivate an awareness of our thoughts more of the time! So instead of being consciously aware of our thoughts only 5% of the time (like the average person), we need to become aware of and create thoughts that benefit us more of the time.
Learning meditation and mindfulness techniques are just a few of the most popular ways to achieve this. What are your thoughts telling you now?
- I’ve tried to meditate before, and it didn’t work.
- That’s for yogis and monks!
- I’m too busy to sit on a cushion and watch my thoughts.
- I can’t meditate, it won’t work for me, my mind is too busy, etc.
Great! All good excuses, and all good reasons why your life will not change! Keep doing what you are doing and you will continue to get the same stuff happening in your life as you have had before.
So, I will ask you again: Do you really want some aspects of your life to improve, and are you willing to do what it takes?
Change your thoughts and you will change your life. Your life is in your hands, and you alone can choose what kind of life you want to create for yourself.
What will it be?
Your future life is in your hands and it begins now!
Why not begin now by taking a moment and choosing to love, respect, and accept yourself, unconditionally, exactly as you are, here and now? You do deserve your unconditional love as in essence you are a magnificent spiritual being, gifted with unlimited potential!
How much of that potential you choose to tap into is totally up to you! Will you take the time to choose your next thoughts wisely?
The correct focus of your thoughts will allow you to achieve all of your dreams in this lifetime. Are you willing to focus your attention on creating beliefs that serve your greatest potential, or are you just going to settle for more of the same content that you currently have?
The occasional and scattered thoughts will not help you achieve your dreams. An upgraded life experience is within your grasp and just requires that you consciously and consistently focus your thoughts on that which you wish to create.
Your thoughts determine what life you can imagine for yourself, and they also pave the way for you to be able to achieve your dreams or not. There is nothing more important for you to consider at this moment in time, or any other moment, other than “Are the current thoughts I am having beneficial to me, or are they limiting my ability to create my life the way I desire it to be?’
You may wish to get more information by reading ‘As a Man Thinketh.’ This is a fantastic short book by James Allan that I recommend to anyone who wants to tap into the unlimited potential that thinking has in creating the life that they desire to be living.
This post is shared, as always, with the intention of making the world a better place by empowering individuals to create a better future for themselves. One by one, we will begin creating a better world for all beings.
With love and respect for all life,
Andrew
Hi Andrew,
I enjoyed the read above and some many salient points you have made in terms of the way we think and the way this impacts us ongoing.
Having an open mind from the time we wake up, covering work, rest and play, will go a long way towards fulfilling a large part of what we need in terms of positivity and making goals.
A lot of what you have touched on is a bit like the “you are what you eat” type analogy, just applied to thinking and our thought processes.
Hi Shane. Thanks for your comments. I believe in the same way our food makes up the substance of our physical bodies, our thoughts make up the substance of our lives. This is just the natural Law of Attraction at work, and it simply cannot be any other way.
Therefore, the most important thing in our lives is what we are thinking as this is the very energy that creates the conditions of our lives. Happy or sad, the way we feel is our choice but the thoughts we are having at any given moment.
I wish you well on your journey.
Andrew
Hi Andrew
Through this a great article I think you do something wonderful. You open up our minds to see what we already know, but for some reason do not follow.
I have great respect for Authors Mark Manson and Jordan Peterson because they do exactly what you do in this article. You take what we know, put it in words and show it to us on black and white and make us wonder why the hell we have not done it in the first place.
I appreciate this article very much.
Thank you
Bert
Haha. Thanks for the comment, Bert. Yes, there is nothing new under the sun, just a recycling of the same stuff over and over again. The answers to all of our problems/issues have always been within our grasp. It is up to us, as individuals, to pursue remedies that suit us, and yet, most of us prefer to walk around with our heads buried in the sand. All we have to do is break out of our self imposed prisons of limiting beliefs and explore our potential. It really helps our cause for growth and development if we let ourselves have lots of fun along the way.
Thanks for sharing, Kind regards,
Andrew
Great article, Sometimes I think we are conditioned to be passive in regards to life and believe in this magical thing called fate and destiny. In reality what comes to us is a result of our predominant thought – good and bad. Think bad thoughts, think poor thought…boom! there you go..bad thing happen.
Think rich, happy, good thoughts – these occur also.
It is always in action. It takes for some of us a great effort to change our predominant way of thinking and make that impression on the subconscious mind.
Hi Derek. thanks for taking the time to read and comment on my post. As you say, it is our predominant thinking that creates our reality and we need to become aware of our subconscious beliefs so that we are able to change them. It is a process that is ongoing for the rest of our lives. I wish you well on your journey. Kind regards,
Andrew
I wonder which god-or fate- kept me away from your website, Andrew. I had been struggling for months to overcome a loss that broke my heart. Months that seemed like hell where I kept losing myself, my self-esteem, my pride, and my self-confidence. It’s painful to realize that you haven’t been respected as much as you have respected others. I wish I had found this article, then. I wouldn’t have to undergo all that emotional torture. The pain stopped that very moment when I decided that loving myself is more important than having others to love. Ever since life smiles at me again. Is it because I started smiling at it again?
Hi Effie. If we don’t have lessons, we don’t learn anything. It sounds like you have had a major break-through because of the recent experiences that you had. Realizing this, we can come to love the lessons, no matter how painful they are, as without them we would not be able to grow into the wonderful beings that we now are. The lessons that hurt me the most in the past turned out to be my greatest teachers, and I am so very grateful for them now.
Maybe you found this article at the right time, as it has given you clarity as to what happened in your life. If you had read it sooner, you would not have been ready for the confirmation that it contained for you?
Life gives to us in exact proportion as to what we give to life. The law of attraction says that life is smiling at you now because you choose to smile at life….. What an inspiring and wise choice you have made. I wish you all the best, with love and respect,
Andrew
Wow! What a wonderful website. I could easily spend hours here. I have used LOA to change aspects of my personal life. The biggest and best achievement was meeting my wonderful husband. He’s exactly what I pictured and focused on just prior to actually meeting him. However, I’m still struggling with two other aspects of my life, losing weight and financial independence. It’s weird how the one thing happened so quickly and easily but the other areas have yet to see manifested. I know this probably means I have some limiting beliefs there and have been working hard on my mindset and vibrational energy I’m putting out. What I find is very helpful to me is early AM prayer and thanksgiving. Sets me up for the day. Love your site and I’ll be coming back here more often. Thank you!
Hi Anne. How wonderful that you attracted the husband that you desired. I believe it is just a matter of time until you achieve your other goals. However, the amount of time is totally up to you. The sooner you can identify and change your limiting beliefs, the better. Being grateful first thing in the morning is a very powerful way to set yourself up for a fantastic day. Unfortunately, many people wake up and read or watch the morning news where they are taught to pay attention to what they think is going to go wrong. This is never a good way to start our day, as it is often hard to change from that negative mindset to one that will be of benefit to us.
I wish you all the best on your journey,
Kind regards, Andrew
Good article. I’m an avid believer in the power of the law of attraction. In fact, I pride myself in being able to manifest all kind of things into my life rather quickly.
I appreciate your article and how it’s guiding your audience to paying attention to their thoughts, and I’d go a step further and say to pay attention to your feelings.
I’m basically at the point in my life that if something messes with my vibration I just simply won’t do it. There is nothing more important to me than being happy, and therefore happiness is all I get!
Keep up the good work!
Hi. It sounds like you have a great life being happy all the time. Many people would be envious of that, simply because they do not yet know how to manifest into their life what they desire for themselves. I agree with you that feelings are extremely important. They are our guide as to what we resonate with and what we do not want in our lives. If we follow our hearts we can never go wrong. Many thanks for sharing.
It’s serendipitous that I found this article. I intellectually know that all you’ve written is true and I’ve read all the books like The Secret and I’ve also tried meditation. I have come to the conclusion that I have to keep striving for better as that is all I know how to do. This line especially resonated with me “…taking a moment and choosing to love, respect, and accept yourself, unconditionally, exactly as you are, here and now.” I am highly self-critical and I have to consciously remind myself to love me in all my glory. Thank you for such an insightful article.
Hi Dawn. Thanks for taking the time to read and comment on my article. Sometimes it helps us to just let go! Striving to be better is admirable, but it also is a constant reminder to ourselves that we are currently not good enough. We are definitely on a journey, and if we can begin now by accepting who we are, without judgment, we can enjoy life as it is, now. Acceptance does not mean we will forever remain the way we are now, as we will continue to grow and evolve so that we can achieve the life that we desire for ourselves in the future. However, if we can let go of the self-criticism and come to love ourselves now, as we are, we will enjoy every step of our journey instead of just planning to be happy at some unknown future date.
Enjoy the journey…… because you can! It’s just a matter of making choices that support your wellbeing now, at this moment.
I wish you all the best, with love and respect,
Andrew
